Burgeoning Storm

Burgeoning Storm
11 X 14 inches

March 2011

This painting is from an excursion to Parker Canyon Lake near the Arizona-Mexico border.  As we drove south of the small town of Elgin, the looming monsoon storm thickened across the horizon.  In this painting the angry sky is contrasted by the vast thirsty grasses of cattle ranches.

February 2011

One of the beautiful drives on the Central Coast weaves from Los Alamos Park towards highway 246 and the Santa Rita Hills near Buellton via the farm-laden Drum Canyon.  This painting is a view from the descent into the canyon during the spring when the hills are still green and mustard lines the valley floor.
